Empowering Human Element in Shipping
This year’s conference theme will be ”Empowering Human Element in Shipping”. The “7th International Conference on Maritime Education” will be held on Tuesday April 29th, 2025, 17:30-20:00, at Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation Historical Library.
Energy transition, digitalisation, and geopolitics are just a few of the key factors reshaping the shipping industry today. However, viewing this transformation solely through the lens of technological advancements, operational strategies, or emerging challenges overlooks a critical aspect—the human element.
This conference will delve on the pivotal role of the Human Element in the maritime industry’s transformation journey. It is the professionals, both onboard and ashore, who bridge the gap between ships as assets and the operational aspects of the business. Without individuals equipped with the knowledge and skills to navigate change, even the most advanced technologies designed to enhance assets and operations are destined to fall short. Training and continuous skill development are not only essential for improving efficiency, safety, and security, but they also reaffirm the irreplaceable role of the Human Element as the industry charts its course towards a new era.
