Empowering Human Element in Shipping

This conference aims to bring together shipping executives, policy makers, academics and students, and generate discussion over the current challenges on effectively incorporating sustainability strategies in the various aspects of shipping operations. Moreover, we expect that the conference will create new learning and networking opportunities for all participants.

The conference is organized by Metropolitan College’s Maritime Academy, one of of the Largest Maritime Education & Training Providers in Southern Europe and the most comprehensive School of Maritimes Studies in Greece.
The conference will welcome international speakers of major shipping companies and industry stakeholders.

AIKATERINI LASKARIDIS FOUNDATION

The Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation is a public benefit cultural institution established in 2007. As an active and vibrant cultural, educational organization, the Foundation organizes and executes a large number of educational, cultural and educational programs each year.

The Foundation is undertaking broader initiatives to save and preserve Greek maritime history and heritage. This includes the complete renovation and restoration of the stone-built lighthouses of Capes Tainaron, Cape Maleas and the Dana lighthouse of Poros island. The Foundation also has an important maritime collection and the largest collection outside the UK of personal items, letters and documents associated with the British Admiral Lord Horation Nelson.

The “5th International Conference on Maritime Education” will be held on Wednesday, June 7th 2023, 15:00-20:00, at Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation (Historical Library).
